Frequently Asked Questions

What are home care giving services?

Care giving can involve non-medical health-care services provided in a client's home or residence in any facility. Care giving is a collaborative effort involving the client, the client's family, the physician, and professional caregivers to provide care services that improve the client's quality of life by maximizing recovery/support, minimizing illness and disabilities, maintaining or even improving health and mobility, while promoting independence, resulting in a renewed sense of well-being!

How soon can you start home care?

Generally, we can begin a full schedule of care in Tucson within 2-7 days after the no-cost home evaluation process is complete. Details are customized for each individual's immediate or most important needs.

What if our needs are immediate or rather urgent?

If you require urgent or sudden home care services, At Home Seniors can set up a caregiver to start with you, typically within a 12-hour period.  If you need emergency coverage, we can often accommodate! Call 520-261-2273 for details!

Does At Home Seniors have a minimum number of hours for home care?

At Home Seniors can offer home care services from a minimum of 4 hours up to 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, on your preferred days and schedule times!

Are light housekeeping services provided?

As part of our caregiving services, we will tidy areas of the home used the most. More specifically, areas of focus are the kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, and living areas. After meal preparation and or consumption of meals, dishes will be washed or placed into the dishwasher. When needed, we will take out the trash and or place proper bins curbside for pickup or recycling. In the bathroom, we will tidy up after personal hygiene care is complete, ensuring a safe and healthy environment!

What are Adl's?

Activities of daily living refer to an individual's daily habits. Examples of ADLs include bathing, personal hygiene, dressing, eating, getting around the home, using the restroom, and walking or mobility.  ADLs are often used to help determine an individual's level of independence and function in the home or any other place of residence.

Do you provide supportive hospice care?

At Home Seniors supports any hospice care company or organization of your choice, serving Tucson and the surrounding areas, and follows your physician's recommendations.

Does Medicare cover caregiving services?

If you meet certain requirements, Medicare should pay for some skilled nursing care in your home and/or home health aide services. For a definition of Medicare-covered home health aid services, please research Medicare's parameters. If you have questions, call 1-800-MEDICARE.

All Long Term Care  Insurance Policies are accepted by At Home Seniors, within the guidelines of your individual policy and the insurer's qualifications.
